Eido provides visibility into both managed applications and the full list of installed applications on a device. This allows you to understand what software is deployed, what is actually installed, and identify potential risks or inconsistencies.
Understanding Application Views
Within Device Details, applications are split into two tabs:
Managed Apps – applications deployed via Intune or management policies
All Apps – complete inventory of applications discovered on the device
This separation helps distinguish between what should be installed and what is actually installed.
Viewing Managed Applications
The Managed Apps tab shows applications that are deployed to the device through management policies.
For each application, you can see:
Application name
Deployment status (e.g. Installed, Failed)
Assignment type (user or device)
This helps confirm whether required applications have been successfully deployed.
Understanding Managed App Status
Each managed application includes a status indicator:
Installed – successfully deployed to the device
Failed – deployment issue
Unknown – deployment not yet confirmed
This allows you to quickly identify issues with application delivery.
Viewing All Installed Applications
The All Apps tab shows a complete inventory of applications detected on the device.
This includes:
Applications installed by users
Applications deployed outside of management
System and background applications
For each application, you can view:
Application name
Publisher
Version
Understanding the Difference
The two views serve different purposes:
Managed Apps > verifies app deployment
All Apps > provides full visibility of the device software inventory
Comparing both helps you identify:
Missing required applications
Applications installed outside of policy
Version inconsistencies across devices
Investigating Application Issues
The Applications view helps answer key questions:
Has a required application been successfully installed?
Are there deployment failures?
What version of an application is running?
Are users installing unauthorised software?
This is particularly useful for troubleshooting and compliance validation.
Managed Apps thresholds are configured at the tenant level.
