The Trends view provides a historical overview of the health and compliance of your Intune-managed environment. It allows you to monitor how key metrics change over time and quickly identify improvements, recurring issues, or sudden drops in device health.
Rather than analysing individual device data, Trends highlights patterns across your environment, helping you understand whether device health is improving, declining, or remaining stable.
This view is particularly useful for:
Tracking the impact of policy or configuration changes
Identifying when device health begins to decline
Monitoring improvements after remediation actions
Understanding long-term compliance and patching trends
Selecting the Data to View
Use the panel on the left side of the page to control what information is displayed.
Intune Tenant
Select one or more Intune tenants you want to analyse. Trend data is calculated separately and collectively for connected tenants.
Period
Choose how far back you want to review historical data.
You can analyse trends across a selected number of days or months, allowing you to view both short-term changes and longer-term patterns in device health.
Choosing Metrics to Display
Use the Show toggles to select which metrics appear in the charts.
Available metrics include:
Compliance %
Config Health %
App Health %
OS Patch Health %
Each selected metric will appear as its own chart, showing how that metric changes during the selected period.
Understanding the Trend Charts
Each chart displays the value of a specific metric over time.
Bars represent the value for each day or month within the selected period.
Above each chart you will also see:
Average value during the selected period
Minimum recorded value
Maximum recorded value
These indicators help you quickly understand how stable the metric has been over time.
You can hover over any bar to see the exact value recorded for that specific date.
Compliance %
The Compliance metric shows the percentage of devices that meet the compliance policies configured in Intune.
Monitoring this trend helps you understand how well devices across your organisation are meeting required security and configuration standards.
Changes in this trend may indicate:
Devices falling out of compliance
New compliance policies affecting device status
Devices failing to check in with Intune
Improvements after remediation actions
A consistently high compliance trend indicates that devices across your environment are meeting organisational policy requirements.
Config Health %
The Configuration Health metric shows how successfully configuration profiles are applied to devices.
Lower values may indicate:
Configuration deployment failures
Policy conflicts
Devices failing to receive configuration policies
Devices not checking in with Intune
Monitoring this trend helps identify whether configuration deployments are working correctly across your device fleet.
App Health %
The App Health metric reflects the success rate of application deployments across devices.
This metric helps identify issues such as:
Failed application installations
Devices missing required applications
Deployment failures affecting groups of devices
Problems with application assignments
If this value decreases, it may indicate issues with application packaging, deployment configuration, or device connectivity.
OS Patch Health %
The OS Patch Health metric shows the percentage of devices that are fully updated with required operating system patches.
This metric helps organisations track their patch compliance posture and identify devices that are falling behind on updates.
Monitoring this trend can reveal:
Delays in patch deployment
Devices failing to install updates
Improvements after patch remediation campaigns
Whether devices are staying up to date with security updates
Using Filters
You can refine how trend data is calculated using the available filters.
Exclude Amber Issues
Removes medium-level issues from the calculations so you can focus only on devices that are fully healthy.
Exclude Red Issues
Removes critical issues from the calculations, which can be useful when analysing partial improvements in device health.
These filters allow you to analyse trends under different conditions depending on what you want to investigate.
Investigating Individual Issues
The Trends view provides a high-level overview of device health across your environment. If you notice a drop in one of the metrics, you may need to investigate the underlying issues affecting devices.
To analyse individual problems in more detail, navigate to the Issues section.
The Issues view lists all detected problems across your environment, including application failures, configuration issues, and patching problems. From there, you can filter, sort, and investigate specific devices and issues to determine the root cause.
